“Where shall we go?, why we were thrown out from our home? What is my future ? Among 193 countries can no one accommodate us or not a single country whom we can call our home”? A 12 year Rohingya refugee girl asked all these questions with her twinkling eyes from her Father. Her Father cannot answer even a single question.

But I ask myself Who are these Rohingyas and What happened to them and than I came across their harsh reality and cannot stop myself writing.

The Rohingya’s used to reside in Rakhine State of Myanmar and practice Islam, and than they were thrown out from their country on the basis of religious differences. They were a targeted community even when they were in their country, violent attacks , brutality, Gang Rape of Rohingya women and girl and all the mixed assaults has forced the community to leave their country and settle elsewhere. Even after leaving all that behind and finding shelter in the Refugee Camps at cox’s Bazar of Bangladesh the atrocities and cruelty they faced had deep impacts on their minds.

Around 2017 the rise in their migration to refugee camps has increased rapidly. They live in congested camps with very minimal basic facilities and are prone to disease and disasters , their children don’t have access to education, they are stateless, don’t a hold a citizenship of any country. So I think they know the Importance of citizenship and Rights which we surely take for granted.

What are we doing for their uncertain future?

I do really appreciate the ‘ joint response plan ‘ launched in February 2019 ,to provide them with basic assistance such as food, health, water , shelter. But is this enough for them? Are we really helping them?. ‘ We cannot understand their Plight because we all have basic Right’. But for me any issue which should hold the primary importance today is their rights and our responsibilities towards them.

According to Article 21 of the Indian Constitution “No person shall be deprived from the Right to life or Personal liberty “. But there is a long debate going on that Euthanasia which is Mercyfull killing or to be more specific Right to die with dignity should also be included in Article 21.

First, I would like to highlight the Fact that Euthanasia and Suicide are to different concepts. Suicide as per section 309 of Indian Constitution is a criminal offense where is Euthanasia is basically demanding a dignified death with the help of a drug or Physician.

What I personally believe is Euthanasia should not be included in Article 21 as Article 21 talks about the Right of every individual to live with dignity in a society, including Right to dignified death in the same article would be conflicting. Also the People demanding Euthanasia shall be given Proper Treatment or Medicare instead of killing them.

What If Euthanasia becames Fundamental Right and Every other individual suffering from anxiety start demanding it, that would have deadly consequences on our society, Economy, will also disturb the Human ratio,Not only this much questions will also be put on on our medical or health industries.

A person who is depressed, has anxiety or is mentally stressed needs outmost care. Killing them is not a solution.
